2023-24 SEASON BILLET INFORMATION

Become a Billet for the Minnesota Loons!

The Minnesota Loons are looking for billet (host) families for the 2023-24 season. Our players come from all over the globe and need families willing to share their home and make them feel at home during the season. Stable billet families are a key success to our program.

Players range in age from 16 – 20 and will be training daily on and off the ice as they pursue their goal of playing collegiate hockey. While the family will receive financial compensation, the ultimate reward is developing relationships that often carry on for many years well after the player has left the team.

What is expected of the billet family?
1. A family atmosphere while players live away from home.
2. A separate bedroom for the player(s), to include bed and linens.
3. Internet access during the day and evening.
4. Cooked meal for dinner and have healthy food available for breakfast and lunch (players may make their own breakfasts/lunches).

Housing families are compensated a monthly stipend to help defray costs and will also receive season tickets for the Loons home games. Players generally report to Breezy Point in September and stay until the end of the season in mid-late March.

What is expected of the player?
While here, the players must adhere to a strict set of rules which are observed at the rink, at home and in the community. This includes cleaning up after himself and keeping his room tidy. We expect the host family to uphold and enforce these team rules while all billet rules must be communicated to the player when he arrives.
